As you can see, the Delano is my go to spot in Miami.  I generally, like to stick with small luxury hotels & boutiques if I can.  You don't get as much traffic, the service is better.. and like everything in life Quality is better than Quantity (so this should also refer to hotels) and you get what you pay for. 

This Art-Deco Hotel has fun photo-opps all over-which leads to fun after a day drinking by the pool.

Dip in the pool, enjoy some cocktails, check out the beach--whatever you do, make sure to enjoy the Miami Heat!

Where else to stay:

• 1 Hotel South Beach: Brand new in 2015, provides childcare for you parents out there, and view of the ocean from the pool!
• Fontainebleau Hotel: Larger than I prefer, but stayed here my first trip and was upgraded to one of the most fabulous hotel rooms in a while. *So if you can, request a corner room with a wrap around balcony in one of their Suites. 

• Shore Club: Even though it has been around for ever-still has a crazy pool scene. I do believe they are going under some renovations, but if not to stay here--come for cocktails near the pool.

• Soho Beach House: London based social club, with public access for hotel guests. More of a celeb scene-providing the royal treatment.

• Katsuya: Sushi, at SLS Hotel
• Prime 112: Chophouse, Generally a more Ritzy Scene
• Spiga: Intimate Italian restaurant
