So... I got married in October 2013.. this is my happy place. I could give up everything and live in Ireland.
My tip for discovering Ireland is with no plan.. yes maybe map out a route, but no agenda. The greatest thing about Ireland is the people-and you will meet the nicest people in the world here. Find a bar that has been around for a century. Head where the road takes you and stop every chance you get.
Lahinch is a surfing town (yes, surfing) in county Clare.
I'm not a golfer, but Lahinch Golf Club is a world renowned links golf course--the boys took advantage of this course on our wedding day.
Ten minute drive to the Cliffs of Moher, which might be the most beautiful thing nature has to offer.
You cannot come to Ireland without seeing them.. so I will post a few more photos if you need persuading..
We stayed at the Moy House; there is NO better spot. We booked the B&B for the wedding, only our guests stayed here. It was a home away from home, on the ocean, in paradise.
Ennystimon is the town next door with some great local charm.
Head back to the town of Lahinch and there are multiple shops and pubs to check out. The bartender in this photo is not my relative; however, you would never know that from this photo.
When in Lahinch, take advantage of the surf school, local restaurants, Cliffs of Moher, if you are afraid of heights you can see the Cliffs of Moher by boat in Dooling. I highly recommend this. 1. Doolin has the best pub 2. its gorgeous. Our wedding guests all gathered for this boat right. So you could say it was a semi private tour of the Cliffs of Moher.
Strolling through Doolin hitting up O'Connors Pub.
