Scott & I traveled to Amsterdam during President's & Valentine's day weekend.  Very Romantic.. <3 Actually, we couldn't have traveled at a better time.  It was the Winter Olympics-and we were able to watch the USA play Russia... and wait.. OSHIE single handedly winning the shootout for the win.

Strolling the streets of Amsterdam

Amsterdam is a very casual city which is my favorite thing about the city.  I generally don't like to do the typical touristy things on a trip.  I want to live like the locals and really embrace the culture.  Amsterdam is the perfect place to do so. Staying at a boutique hotel, doing a boat tour down the rivers, and enjoying some beer at the pubs.

Places to Stay:

The Dylan Hotel:  This remains one of my favorite hotels, I've ever stayed at.  Apparently, Brad Pitt owns an apartment across the street... The hotel actually told Justin Bieber they were sold out---and gave the room to someone else... well because... its Bieber and they are unBeliebers. Each room has a different theme.. and the lobby bar is super cute.  I love staying at places where you get to know the staff---because thats who give you the best advice on places to eat.

Things to do:

River Cruise: We rented a private boat, but if you are looking to save money there are plenty of cruises that take you through the city.

Anne Frank House: Museum from WWII showing where she hid in the attic.

Red Light District: OK! You have to go.  The first night.. if you are like me... you are going to stare with your mouth wide open... like OH MY GOD-IS THIS REAL LIFE? People are bargaining with these girls. But then you become de-sensitized and day two...you go back.. you walk around and maybe check out a sex show.

YES--this sounds crazy but.. if you want to see something crazy. GO! You live once.  It's so desensitized its not even sexual.. its just mouth dropping.. like woah.

Coffee Shop: OK, So we are in Amsterdam.  GO towards the Red Light District and pop into a Coffee Shop and take advantage of being able to order a blunt for 5 euro-- if you are into that sort of thing. But, since you are traveling to Amsterdam.... When in Rome
